This course provides DOT hazmat training to prepare and offer hazardous materials shipments for transportation by ground, to ensure compliance with the latest 49 CFR Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR). This course is built for employees and supervisors/managers who are responsible for overall compliance with 49CFR hazardous materials shipments via ground.

This training is designed to meet the US DOT’s general awareness, security awareness, and function specific training mandates found in 49 CFR 172.704. This DOT hazmat course will help satisfy training mandates found at 49 CFR 172.704, requiring training once every 3 years.  US DOT hazmat fines go as high as $81,993 per day, per violation.

Learning Objectives:

• Develop expertise to navigate and implement DOT hazardous materials regulations for bulk or non-bulk ground shipments
• Classify, name, package, mark, label, load, and unload hazardous materials and certify overall compliance on hazmat shipping papers

Target Audience:

Shippers, carriers and freight forwarders (hazmat employees, supervisors/managers, etc) who handle, ship or transport hazardous materials by ground to, from or within the US. This may include but is not limited to:

• Warehouse staff that are packaging hazardous materials
• Office staff that are shipping packages to facilities
• pickers/packers, drivers
• customer service staff or procurement staff that are addressing customers’ returns of hazmat.
